Annual Leaders' Retreat
Help Shape the Future of Manhattan
A presentation at the Retreat
Chamber members, government leaders and educators get together formally each year in January, hosted by the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce, to discuss current issues and plan on how to make the region a great place in which to live, work and enjoy.  This unique annual retreat allows leaders of our community to take a step away from their day to day work and view the region with a new perspective.  It also provides our community leaders a structured time to work and plan together for the regions future.

The nature in part for this Leaders' Retreat is to have some joint sessions with the Chamber and Civic Leadership from Junction City, Manhattan, Wamego, Geary, Riley and Pottawatomie County. The tentative agenda for joint topics include Fort Riley, Highway 24 Corridor Study, state economic development and the 2010 state legislative session. All communities will also have plenty of their own time to separately study issues specific to the their respective communities.
