Chamber members, government leaders and educators get together formally each year in January, hosted by the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce, to discuss current issues and plan on how to make the region a great place in which to live, work and enjoy. This unique annual retreat allows the leaders of our community to take a step away from their day to day work and view the region with a new perspective. It also provides our community leaders a structured time to work and plan together for the regions future.
The retreat begins on Friday, January 15, 2010 at 11:30 am with a luncheon followed by an afternoon session of timely topics. There will be a reception on Friday night. Saturday morning will begin with a buffet breakfast followed by a planning and wrap up session. The retreat will end Saturday morning at 11:30 am.
The nature, in part, for this Leaders’ Retreat is to have joint sessions with the Chamber and civic leadership from Junction City, Wamego, Riley, Geary and Pottawatomie County. All communities will also have plenty of their own time to separately study issues specific to the respective communities.
Lodging Information: The Manhattan Chamber has obtained a block of rooms at the hotel for the remarkably low rate of $99 per room single or double.
