Our Visit Manhattan team has been working with partners from around the community over the past few years to brand the community as a hub of Christmas cheer. It's that magical time of the year again as we celebrate the Spirit of the Holidays in Manhattan.
There are activities throughout the holiday season. From Festival of Lights in Blue Earth Plaza, to a lighted parade through Downtown the first Friday in December, to Little Apple New Year's Eve and so much more throughout the season, the city is bursting with holiday spirit. With over 30 festive events happening this holiday season there is something for everyone to enjoy.
The holiday festivities kick off this Friday with the 11th Annual Festival of Lights Tree Lighting Ceremony. Join Whoville, Inc. for a magical show starting at 7 p.m. as they turn Blue Earth Plaza into the brightest corner in Manhattan. There will be local choirs, photo opportunities with Santa, hot chocolate and more. After the lighting, the lights in Blue Earth Plaza can be viewed in person through January 1st. While you're there, don't forget to tune in to 88.1 FM and watch the lights dance to the music.
On Dec. 1, the annual Spirit of the Holidays Lighted parade heads through Downtown to City Park. After the parade, stay in City Park for the lighting of the Mayor's holiday tree.
We close out the holiday season with the Little Apple New Year's Eve celebration in Aggieville. Come watch the Little Apple drop in the 'Ville as you ring in a new year with thousands of other revelers.
