Final preparations are underway for the annual Flint Hills Regional Leaders Retreat, Friday, Jan. 19 at the Manhattan Conference Center. The annual gathering brings together business leaders from Manhattan, Junction City and Pottawatomie County. The day kicks off with keynote speaker Clint Runge, a founding partner of Archrival, a youth culture agency that wins the hearts and minds of young adults. Clint brings a unique perspective to Gen Z in the workplace.
The daylong retreat will also feature the traditional community updates from systems involved in the work of economic development, state health care experts who will drill into specific health metrics of our three counties, and a closing keynote from Ed O’Malley, President & CEO of the Kansas Health Foundation, who has co-authored When Everyone Leads, which dives into system and individual leadership challenges impacting success.
Winners of 2024’s 15 under 40 will be recognized at a special reception in their honor at 4:30 p.m., Jan. 18 at Prairiewood Retreat’s Blue Sage Barn. Register here if you would like to attend the reception honoring the 2024 top young professionals. If you sign up for the Regional Leader’s Retreat to be held Jan. 19, you will receive a drink ticket to use at the reception.
Winners were nominated from the three counties that make up the Manhattan MSA (Riley, Pottawatomie and Geary). Nominees were then asked to complete an application that outlined their achievements in their profession as well as work in the community. From the nearly 75 nominees and over 50 applicants, an appointed committee selected the final 15.
