As we get back into the swing of things in the new year, it is a time to recognize our new volunteer leadership.
The most prominent is the change of board chairs. Mark Knackendoffel of The Trust Company ended his time as chair on December 31. Mark has been a key business leader in the community for many years and was a steady force for our organization in his time both as chair and as a member of the executive committee.
Jake Wassenberg of Pepsi took over the chair officially on Jan. 1. We are looking forward to his leadership and focus on community growth initiatives and economic prosperity.
I want to thank Summer Ott Dierks for her service to the Chamber. Summer exited the executive committee at the end of the year after a five-year stint, including a year as chair. She was instrumental in several key initiatives including the revamp of young professionals to Hype and the creation of the DEI Committee.
Her position will be taken by Gavin Schmidt with ESB Financial. Other members of the MACC Executive Committee include: Stacy Kohlmeier (Florence), Chair Elect; and Nancy Burton (BBN Architects). Marshall Stewart serves as an ex-officio member representing the president’s office at Kansas State University.
Committee Chairs for 2024 include: CVB Steering Committee-Scott Sieben; Economic Development-Patrick Schutter; Membership-Callie Marks; Military Relations-Christine Benne; Business Advocacy-Tom Phillips; Audit Committee-Bob Copple; DEI-Lisa Sisley; and Hype-Kale Terrill.
