As we get back into the swing of things in the new year, it is a time to recognize our new volunteer leadership.
The most prominent is the change of board chairs. Mark Bachamp (Olsson) ended his time as chair on December 31. Mark has a passion for Chamber and economic development work and was very instrumental in directing several key initiatives in 2021. We will be highlighting those more as we approach our annual meeting in February.
Summer Ott Dierks (Dierks Law Firm) took over the chair officially on Jan. 1. We are looking forward to Summer's leadership and focus on young professionals and diverse leadership development.
I want to thank Larie Schoap (ESB Financial) for her service to the Chamber. Larie exited the executive committee at the end of the year after a five-year stint, including a year as chair. Larie had a 100 percent attendance record as part of the executive committee. It's hard to believe that was ever achieved previously and will ever be achieved again. Thank you Larie.
Her position will be taken by Stacy Kohlmeier from Florence Corporation. Other members of the MACC Executive Committee include: Mark Knackendoffel (The Trust Company), Jake Wassenburg (Pepsi) and Linda Cook (Kansas State University). Linda Cook will be retiring at the end January and we will miss her leadership.
Committee Chairs for 2022 include: CVB Steering Committee-Kevin Roberts; Economic Development-Lowell Kohlmeier; Leadership Manhattan-Kiley Moody; Membership-Callie Marks; Military Relations-Christine Benne; Business Advocacy-Mike Matson; Audit Committee-Gail Urban; and Hype-Stephanie Pierce.
